ARROWHEAD LAND COMPANY NEWSLETTER
Hello, if you're
reading this for the first time, welcome to Tellico Plains and Tennessee.
We've been "busy as bees" getting new cabins ready at Caney Creek Village,
They are ready for rental now, look at the site at
http://www.caneycreekvillage.com.
Another spring is in the offing at Caney Creek Village and Tellico Plains. The little yellow daffodils have perked up their heads, blooming as hard as they can after a light snow last week. It was nice to walk down to our mailbox this afternoon without a sweater and in a pair of sandals.
We have plans for extra campers this year, with the placing of a bathroom to be available for tent campers who want to camp closer to the creek. In years past, tent campers were placed up behind the barn next to a small branch and the pond so they could use the bathroom in the barn. The cabin housing the bathroom is going to be called the "whatever" cabin with plans for the bathroom to be put in there, as well as a small display of historical items from the area. Tent camping will still be available up behind the creek, if you'd rather have privacy. There are also two camper sites at the barn with electric, water, and sewer hookup.
We have a new price policy on the chapel this year also, if you're interested in getting married there, and want to rent one of the larger cabins for at least one night, the chapel will not cost you extra. Limitations will be that it has to be reserved, and that the service last no longer than one hour. The barn is also available at no cost.
Myles continues to be able to be at the cabins, although he is still in poor health. He enjoys meeting the residents of the cabins, and enjoys giving them history about the original Caney Creek Village, which was located on Ocoee River back in the 30's. When you're at our office, ask to see the photo of the original Village. It was provided for laborers who were working on the dam at that time. My mom is still with us, and will be providing us with paintings of the area. She is nearly 87, and still continues to paint. Our daughter Julie is in nursing school, Kenny is doing sales and still helps with maintenance, and David is working in construction. We have been in this business now since 1976, how the years have passed.
We have a lot of history about the area that we want to share with you too, are currently in the process of writing a book about Coker Creek, Tellico Plains, and my hometown of Palm Harbor, Florida as well."
Looking forward to seeing you this season.
